Since 1978 Cuir F.L. has been making hand made quality leather articles. When handcrafted leather work slowed down, we opened up a shoe repair shop from 1985 to 2003 without leaving completely our other passions, custom made leather articles of American Indian styles, Western, motorcycle, industrial etc. In 1997, we started concentrating our leather work to medieval shoes, then medieval boots. Now we can make you just about any leather article from any year period. As always, our best knowledge and craftsmanship go into everything we make, from a leather pouch to a reproduction of a 17th century pair of boots. In 2003 we left the shoe repair shop and opened our atelier and that's where it all stared...making boots and shoes for the movies and all you history lovers!

International Jousting Competition
Chivalric Productions will present the largest international jousting tournament, sanctioned by both the International Jousting League and the International Jousting Association - Canada! Step back through the gates of King Arthur's Court to a time of Knights and Crusades. Competitors from around the world will joust for honour and title in this unprecedented display of pageantry and skill.
The Knight was a fixture of the medieval period, at their best when they were heading into battle or fighting on the field of honor. They trained for many years but as much as they longed for battle, there was a great deal of peace during medieval times. Times of peace created a quandary for the knight – how did he remain in shape and keep his fighting skills sharp with no battles to fight? This dilemma led to the popularity of the jousting tournaments.
The traditional joust took place on an open field though the knights were sometimes separated by a fence. Two knights on horse back would face off at a distance, generally armed with a lance, a one handed sword and a small dagger called a rondel. The lance, a long wooden spear like weapon with either a blunt or sharpened tip, depending on the type of joust, would be lowered then the knights, dressed in armor, would then ride toward each other and attempt to either break the other’s lance or knock the other from their horse.
Bear witness to the nobility of a true Medieval joust! Free with admission!
